
Using a letter opener or scissors, cut the envelope open - laying it flat so you have the largest possible piece to work from.

Here I cut down a piece and mounted it as a background on my card. I also used a craft punch to punch a circle to mount behind a clear button for an embellishment on the card.

And here are a few samples of the finished cards. The gold and silver cardstock behind the stamped image is also recycled - I cut it from some Nordstrom catalogs I received in the mail.

So see, you don't always have to purchase cardstock to use for your card projects. You can use trash! Just think, you'll be saving our environment too.
