Have something really small to wrap? Maybe you need to furnish a doll house. This a fun, easy little project I like to make using empty matchboxes and scraps of printed paper, card stock, and ribbon I have laying around my craft room. They're perfect for holding earrings, charms, pieces of candy, coins, little notes, incense, all kinds of little treasures.
I start by removing the 'drawers' from four matchboxes. I spray paint the drawers, but you could also color them with craft ink or markers. After they are dry I put the drawers back into the boxes. Next I tape the boxes together. They hold together better with tape rather then with glue. I usually use packing tape or masking tape. I punch a hole in the middle of the front of each drawer and add a brad for a 'knob'.
Then I cover my 'chest of drawers.' I use scraps of scrapbook paper or card stock that I have stamped. The size of paper you need, of course, depends on the size of the matchboxes you are using. For the ones I did here, my paper measured 2" x 8 1/4".
For the feet on the chest I use plastic beads. I use E6000 glue to adhere them to the bottom of the chest. And finally I adorn them with ribbon and a tag. That's it. They're fun, fast, and pixie size!
