Certificate Folded Cards

Isn't this a beautiful card? I got it in a swap at the SU Regional Conference I attended earlier this month (see previous post.) It was created by Rhonda Gin from Torrance, California. I'm not sure what you call this style, so I'm calling it a Certificate Fold because it reminds me of how awards or certificates are folded for presentation. Anyway, I thought I'd try a couple of my own.

To make them I started with a 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of cardstock. Scored it at 2 1/4" and 6 1/4". Then I made an approximately 45 degree cut from the top and bottom of each fold (score lines)to the edge of the cardstock. Then I added a second piece of 4" x 5 1/2" piece of cardstock to the inside. Decorate as desired and you're done.

...And here are my attempts. Now that they're finished I'm thinking next time I make these I might try making the "seal" (such as the star on the left) detachable with a pin back. So that the receiver could wear it. Oooow! Brainstorming now....I'm going to use a flower from the SU Pretties Kit on the front, with a pin back.
