Faux-Marble Effect with Metallic Markers

As I promised in my last post, I’m posting cards created using a technique and products I found at the convention I attended over the weekend. I’m not sure if this technique has a name, but basically it is a faux marble–like effect created with metallic markers. It was demonstrated by Judi from Judikins and it’s soooo easy to do. Judi suggested doing several pieces of cardstock at a time and using them as needed later as a background for your card projects. Because of the dark colors it was tough to get a great photo of these cards. But, trust me the results you can achieve with this technique are absolutely gorgeous.

Start with a piece of glossy black card stock. Scribble 2 -3 different colors of metallic markers across the cardstock. I used Black Glossy cardstock from Judikins and Marvy Metallic Markers. Also, be sure to cover your work surface. This technique can get a little messy.
Spritz lightly with water.

Gently blend the colors. I used my finger, but you could use a paint brush. Heat set (with a heat tool) or air-dry completely.

For the cards I created - I stamped the images on the dry cardstock using Versamark. Then heat embossed with black embossing powder. For the purple button I colored the back of a clear button with a purple sharpie. If you have any questions please leave a message under comments.
