Sharing Some Convention Swaps

A week or so ago (August 5th) I posted a photo of the pile of swaps I collected at the Stampin' Up! convention. I promised to share a closer look at some of them over the next few weeks. So here we go.

This is a 6 x 6 scrapbook page created by Terri Brenna. Isn't it too stinkin' cute! She used the Ahoy Matey stamp set and matching wheel. I don't have this set myself, but now I'm thinking I need it.

Here's a close-up of the parrot. I especially like the combination of punched shapes Terri used behind the image to create dimension.

Here's another clever use of punches. This card was created by Melody Castro. She used the small oval & the small tag punches from the SU! catalog. Notice she also sponged pink ink around the edges of the card behind the "dress". Nice touch I think. I also like how Melody combined the two different colors of ribbon for the "belt."
And finally (for today), another awesome card. This was created by Susan Jenne. Check out how she created the buttons. It looks like she embossed black card stock with some clear embossing powder to create the "shiny" effect and then used a paper piercer to create the holes. The tie and handkerchief were made with ribbon.
