How to Create a Faux Wood Effect

I have a fun and simple technique to share with you in this video. Give it a try. You'll find it's the the perfect background for setting off vintage-style stamped images and for creating masculine themed cards.

The grid paper I used in the video can be ordered from the Stampin'Up! catalog (item # 102787). It comes in a pad of 100 and measures 11" x 17" for $9.95. If you are interested in purchasing some just click on the "On-line Shopping" icon in the column to the right. It will take you directly to my Stampin'Up! website.

And here are photos of the cards I showed in the video.
As I mentioned in the video, I received this card in a swap. It was created by Cherie Auth. The lighthouse image is from the stamp set "A Light unto My Path" from the current Stampin'Up! catalog.

I created these two cards with a couple of new stamps sets I recently picked up at a stamp show. They are from The Cat's Pajamas. Aren't they cute?

Hi Michelle,

I loved your faux wood technique. I'll have to try it.

But, I do have a source for wood veneer that I also use in my stamping. It is a nice surface to stamp with. I could use your faux technique to enhance the veneer also, uhmmmm.

Thanks for the video.
