Paper Napkins Transfers

I'm so jazzed! I finally got my editing programs running so I could post this new video tutorial on how-to transfer patterned paper napkins to card stock. I hope you enjoy it.

As I mention in the video, this technique produces some really beautiful results. The finished card stock looks almost like fabric and has a really neat texture. What I forgot to mention is where to find decorative napkins. You can usually find them at party supply stores. I have also found them at Marshall's, Pier I, and Tuesday Morning. Below are photos of the cards I showed at the end of the video. (All supplies from Stampin'Up! unless otherwise listed)

Computer Hell

Yes, folks. I'm in computer hell right now. My computer crash about a week and a half ago. Since then I have been busy reinstalling programs and trying to restore files. What a nightmare!

I thought I finally had everything working this morning and was all set to edit some photos and a video to upload to my blog. But guess what? My computer refuses to cooperate. It is telling me that the programs I need to use weren't installed properly. What! (Okay, that's not really what I said. But it's the G-rated version.)

Anyway, I'm so bummed because I made some cards this past weekend with a new technique I'm really excited to share with you all. I hope after some deep breathing exercises and lots of chocolate I'll have this problem solved soon. So stay tuned.

I Heart Your Blog Award

Thanks to Selene Kempton for nominating me for the I Heart Your Blog Award. I am always thrilled when people enjoy my blog, but to enjoy it so much that you'd nominated it, Wow!

So now the ball is in my court. As a recipient of this award I have to do the following:
1. The winner can put the logo on their blog.
2. Link the person you received your award from (see the link to Selene's blog above)
3. Nominate at least 6 other blogs (This is the hardest part, because there are so many great blogs out there.)
4. Put links of those blogs on yours
5. Leave a message on the blogs of the people you have nominated.

Here are my picks (click on each for link):
Whew, now back to blogging!

Decor Elements Door

Check out my kitchen door. It looks so cool in person. This was my first application of Decor Elements, a new line of self-adhesive vinyl designs for home decorating from Stampin'Up!. It was pretty easy to apply. Although for my first attempt I probably shouldn't have chosen such a large image. I needed an extra set of hands so I had to enlist my daughter's help. But I'm so excited about how it turned out I'm looking around my house now trying to decide what to order next. If you are interested in taking a look at this new line click on the icon below to view the catalog.

Having some fun with my new Big Shot

I finally had time this past weekend to play with my new Big Shot die cutting machine. If you haven't heard, Stampin'Up! is now carrying the Big Shot from Sizzix along with some exclusive dies - only available thru Stampin'Up! So here's one of the cards I made over the weekend.
I'm really loving this new toy. It's so easy to use and can cut thru all types of materials; chipboard, felt, vinyl, tin, balsa wood, leather, and cork to name a few. I have only used it so far with paper and chipboard, but I'm imagining all kinds of projects with it.

The Big Shot Bigz Dies® can also cut thru several layers of card stock or paper at once. This can save so much time if you are making multiple copies of a project, like holiday cards, invitations, or party favors.

To see the new Sizzix line available from Stampin'Up! click here for a pdf file of the SU! Big Shot brochure. I will definitely be posting more Big Shot projects here in the future. And if you're interested in purchasing a Big Shot of your own, please contact me. (A link to my email is at the bottom of this page.)

The Big Shot Special Edition Start Kit is definitely the best deal. For $195.95 you get the Big Shot machine, a multipurpose platform, a set of standard cutting pads, (2) Stampin'Up! exclusive Bigz Dies®, (1) Stampin'Up! exclusive Sizzlits 4-pack, (1) Stampin'Up exclusive decorative strip, a set of decorative strip cutting pads, and an extended spacer platform. Everything you need to get started! But WAIT THERE'S MORE..... Ordering the starter kit also qualifies you to recieve a free hostess level 1 stamp set and a $15 credit towards any merchandise in the SU! Fall & Winter catalog.

Well, I'm back to play some more. Post more later.
