Stamping on candles is one of my most favorite techniques and perfect for creating unique gifts for the holidays. In this video I demonstrate how you can transform a plain candle into something really stunning, using rubber stamps and tissue paper.

2008 Holiday Organizer Portfolio

I made one of these last year. (Here's a link to it.) It was so popular with everyone I showed it to that I made another one this year with new designer series paper from the Stampin'Up! Holiday Mini Catalog. So here's a supply list if you'd like to make your own. (All supplies are from Stampin'Up! unless otherwise stated).Stamp sets: Christmas Classics
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke, and Read Red Stampin'Write markers
Card stock: Whisper White, Old Olive, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, and Brushed Gold
Designer Series paper: Ski Slope
Craft Punches: Snow Blossom, Wide Oval, Large Oval, Scallop Edge, 1" Circle, 1/8" Circle, 1 1/4" Square, and 1 3/8" Square, and 1/4" square
Accessories: Antique brass jumbo eyelets, Real Red brads, gold cord (retired), Old Olive 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, star brad (Joanne Craft Essentials)
I also used (2) #10 Envelopes, a pocket folder, a writing tablet cut down to fit in the pocket, and pages for gift guide which I printed on my computer. I printed the labels from my computer onto Whisper White card stock. And I bound the gift guide with my Zutter binder. Here's a photo of the gift guide pages.

How to Create a Faux Wood Effect
I have a fun and simple technique to share with you in this video. Give it a try. You'll find it's the the perfect background for setting off vintage-style stamped images and for creating masculine themed cards.
The grid paper I used in the video can be ordered from the Stampin'Up! catalog (item # 102787). It comes in a pad of 100 and measures 11" x 17" for $9.95. If you are interested in purchasing some just click on the "On-line Shopping" icon in the column to the right. It will take you directly to my Stampin'Up! website.
And here are photos of the cards I showed in the video.
As I mentioned in the video, I received this card in a swap. It was created by Cherie Auth. The lighthouse image is from the stamp set "A Light unto My Path" from the current Stampin'Up! catalog.

I created these two cards with a couple of new stamps sets I recently picked up at a stamp show. They are from The Cat's Pajamas. Aren't they cute?
