Fanciful Fabric Fashion Cuffs

Did you see these fabric cuffs by Lisa Guerin in the current (Winter 2009) issue of Belle Armoire Jewelry? I don't usually buy this publication. Don't get me wrong, I love all the publications by Stampington & Company. They showcase such beautiful work. I just have a hard enough time keeping up with all the other magazines I seem to accumulate, that I can't justify the extra expense. But a couple of projects in this issue really caught my eye so I had to indulge.

So here is my take on Lisa's cuffs. I changed mine up a bit (we always have to make it our own don't we?) I really love how they came out.

If you're wondering, the "buttons" are made with Shrinky Dinks. Remember those? I wish we still carried them in the Stampin'Up! catalog. Anyway, I found a sheet of almond colored Shrinky Dinks I had buried in my craft supplies. I stamped the images on it and then punched them out with my large oval punch and my 1 3/8" circle punch. Using punches on Shrinky Dinks is always so much easier than trying to cut out a uniform shape with scissors.

Well, thanks for stopping by. I really need to get back now to whipping some things up for my next video. See you soon.

P.S. If you'd like to take a closer look, just click on the photos above.

These are really lovely! And I sooo know what you mean about the expense of those stampington magazines (geesh, $14.95!). Great job with the shrinky dinks and just wanted to add if you don't have almond shrink plastic .... I usually use my sponge and sponge the sides and back in a matching color (or soft color) when they shrink up they're not so white and they blend in!
