Hope Has Arrived in the White House

I couldn't let the day go by without sharing with you how excited and filled with hope I am today with the inauguration of our new President Barack Obama. I am reminded how blessed I am to live in this great country. I have been watching the news coverage throughout the day and many times have been moved to tears. As a country we may sometimes stumble, but this time I think we got it right.

Amen, Michelle! The streaming coverage online was amazing and I loved that I could pause the live action that way even without a DVR. MSNBC put up video links to key moments so I was able to relive the amazing music and poetry (okay speeches too) over and over throughout the day.

The joy & tears & hope on people's faces was transformational and spoke volumes of where I hope we are headed. I am often reminded that with joy and hope in their truest forms we can endure all things. God has blessed us indeed. And I have a feeling we are going to need it!

Thanks for sharing - Jean

Michelle,
I am so happy to read your post on The Inauguration of President Obama. We got back at 4:00 AM this morning and I tell you I am still on a high. It was an honor and priviledge to be there (although I was in the National Mall) to witness this historic ocassion. I have never been so proud to be an American as I am at this time. When I was looking at the pictures on the computer this morning, my 2 year old granddaughter (who by the way was there with us) started chanting "Obama, Obama, Obama". I'm sure she heard us shouting that but tears came to my eyes when she said, "Grammie, he's our President." I was so proud of her. I look forward to a better America in these troubled times. Thanks for allowing me to comment.
