Do you ever hesitate trying a new medium? I do. For some time now I have been planning to try making a beeswax collage, but just hadn't gotten around to it. I think my problem is that I always want things to come out perfect the first time. It must be a form of perfectionism. I collect the supplies, peruse books and articles on the subject, sketch out ideas; sometimes for weeks. I'm afraid to take the "plunge," just in case I don't get it quite right. What starts out as excitement to try something new, becomes an intimidating task. Silly isn't it? Well, this week I finally made my first beeswax collage. While I'm not really happy with the finished piece, at least now I can move on. So here's to pushing thorough mental roadblocks, stretching your creative wings, and trying something new!

I can sooooooooo relate!!! I just did my first beeswax collage last week -- took Anna Corba's class at Convenzione in Pleasanton. Guess I could post my 1st collage on my blog too! I really like mine!
Having never tried it myself, I can only say it looks like you did a really good job! Way to go on getting past the hump and giving it a try.
