Again, I just have to confess, I'm a little disappointed in the quality of this photo. I didn't have very good light to shoot this morning. Because of that you may not be able to tell that the blue background on the front of this card has been dry embossed. I also forgot to take a photograph of the inside, but you can see it if you watch the video tutorial that follows.
To make the foundation for this card you will need two pieces of cardstock; measuring 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and the other 5-1/2" x 6".
Score the larger 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece at 4-1/4" (from the longer edge) and fold to 5-1/2" x 4-1/4"
On the 5 1/2" x 6" piece make six score marks (parallel to the 5 1/2" edge) at:
1-1/2", 3", 3-3/4", 4-1/4", 4-3/4" and 5-1/2". Follow the instructions on the video for folding.

I love pop up ups.
I can't wait to play with this one.
thanks.
Thanks for this video. I made my sample today, but every time I open it, the gift card is flopped over. My cardstock is not real heavy. Would heavier cardstock remedy that? Thanks.
Really cool! Thanks for the tutorial!
I am so glad you all enjoyed this tutorial. Regarding StampinGranny's comment.... Yes, heavier cardstock does seem to work better. It really depends on the weight of the gift card. You may also want to try putting a little repositionable adhesive on the back of the gift card before slipping it into the holder. Thank you all for your kind comments. Have a creative day!
Thank you for swapping your beautiful card with me. The dasher and peace & joy make such a elegant Christmas card.

Made one for myself-just love it.

Beautiful card, clever idea, clearly demonstrated.
Like StampinGranny, I had trouble with the gift card leaning towards me when I opened the card. I did two things:
1) made the "v" 1/4" deeper, by scoring a 5 1/2 x 6 1/2 card at 1 1/2, 3, 3 3/4, 4 1/2,5 1/4 and 6.
2) attached one end of a piece of elastic cord to the underneath back side of the "v" and the other end to the back side of the front wall of the box. When it opened, the cord pushed the underside of the "v" slot forward, pushing the gift card backward.
