CHA Winter Show in Anaheim

Guess what I did on Saturday. I attended my first CHA (Craft & Hobby Assoction) Show. What a blast! I have heard and read so much about CHA but have never been able to attend because I am not a vendor. This year though, the Winter CHA show in Anaheim was open to the public for 2 days. So, of course, I jumped at the chance to attend. Lots to see. Lots to buy. And lots of freebies.

Here's a look at the free booty I scored: a cute pink apron from Slice and Making Memories, a canvas shopping bag from Michaels, scissors from Westcott, adhesive from Scotch, an advance copy of Waking Up in the Land of Glitter by Kathy Cano-Murillo, and loads of coupons. I also won 10 tubes of acrylic paint from Ecogreen Crafts. The colors are look absolutely yummy, but better yet the paints are environmentally friendly.

Of course, there were lots of craft "celebrities" at the show. I was so excited to meet one of my favorites, the Crafty Chica (Kathy Cano-Murillo). She is such a doll; so talented and just as sweet in person as she is on TV. As I mentioned above, I was lucky enough to score one of the 50 free advance copies of her novel, Waking Up in the Land of Glitter, given out at the show. (The official publication date is March 1, 2010.) I can't wait to share it with my book club. Well,...maybe not actually share it with my book club (this copy's mine, get your own!) but to tell them all about it. For a teaser, here's a description from the book's back cover: If Amy Sedaris and Ugly Betty teamed up to rewrite The Friday Night Knitting Club, you'd have this hilarious, heartwarming debut novel from "Crafty Chica" Katy Cano-Murillo.

Can you believe that's all the photos I took? I know, how stupid of me. I guess I was so overwhelmed by all the demonstrations and new products on display, I totally forgot to take pictures. (I most get better about that.) There was quite a crowd there, so I'm sure it will be well covered in blogland.

Finally, a shout out to my friend who I attended the show with: thanks for indulging me Tonya!
